Since 2015 I collect statistical data about the virtualization blogs written by hundreds of bloggers all around the globe. You can find all this data in the vBlog Database:
One really time intensive task every year is to count the number of blog posts written by every single blog listed in the database.
Over time I was able to create some scripts to support me in this work (depends on the blog software, theme, and the RSS feed). But finally, there is still a lot of manual work to do. For 2016 I have already collected all these stats from more than 500 blogs and in the last step I have to evaluate and check them for correctness.
I guess that I can add them to the vBlogDB at the end of the week. So stay tuned and check back to this site, “vBlogs 2016 by the numbers” will be published soon.
But 2016 brings more than the number of posts published last year in the vUniverse:
New in the vBlog DB: Alexa Global Rank
Today I’ve added a new column showing the Alexa Global Rank per January 1, 2017 for every listed blog (respectively where it was possible to get a result).
If you want to learn more about Alexa’s Traffic Ranking you can read this article: How are Alexa’s traffic rankings determined?
So check out the stats already available in the database and the vBlog database diagrams!
